Why Join Us? By becoming the Maintenance Supervisor you are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of APSEA’s facilities and grounds, as well as the supervision of maintenance staff. This individual oversees departmental operations of all building maintenance related tasks including machinery, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems. The individual will be responsible to maintain a strong, cohesive and collaborative team, providing leadership and support to employees within the department.

What’s the Role? As the Maintenance Supervisor, your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership for employees within the department in the daily delivery of quality maintenance work.
- Ensuring that effective and clear procedures are developed, communicated to employees, implemented appropriately and evaluated as needed.
- Directing, supervising, and performing (where appropriate) the maintenance and repair of all buildings, building systems, equipment, appliances and vehicles.
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules and safety inspections for buildings and property and make recommendations to senior leadership to manage major repairs of renovations.
- Supervising employees, conducting performance reviews in accordance with APSEA’s Performance Management procedures, creating and maintaining a positive working environment for all.
- Coordinating sidewalk snow removal and landscaping operations and providing oversight to contracted services who provide supplementary maintenance to APSEA including but not limited to fire, garbage, elevator, heating and cooling systems.
- Administering/monitoring the departmental budget and report to the Director of Finance and Administration as requested on such matters. The Supervisor oversees purchasing for their department.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a maintenance worker.
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Has a valid Drivers License.
- Supervisory experience would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrates general knowledge of maintenance work
- Demonstrates knowledge of standardized work processes in relation to facility maintenance and repair of large buildings.
- Applies knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, small engine repair, electrical systems and appliances, plumbing, general building and vehicle maintenance.
- Is able to lift and carry heavy objects daily.
- Brings a safety-first mindset to their work.
- Has basic computer skills.
- Brings knowledge of WHMIS and OHS policies and procedures.
- Is highly organized and detail oriented, with strong decision-making skills.
- Works collaboratively with APSEA colleagues and other agencies and educational partners.
- Brings a flexible mindset; this role may be required to be on call 24 (twenty-four) hours a day in case of emergency.

Compensation
$69,776.20 - $95,943.12 per year
