We are adding a personable and confident accounting clerk to our small but mighty finance team!
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate handling of accounting processes including payables and receivables. This individual acts as the first point of contact for the APSEA Central Office, providing friendly customer service by responding to requests, redirecting phone calls, and greeting in-person visitors.
What’s the role?
 
Day-to-day, the Accounting Clerk:
 
  • Uses APSEA’s accounting system to accurately prepare all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable invoices, in a timely manner.
  • Receives payments from customers and is responsible for daily handling and security of all cheques, cash, and Point of Sale (POS) payment(s) received through the Finance department.
  • Acts as first point of contact for APSEA phone system and in-person visitors.
  • Provides friendly and professional communication with vendors and customers. Will have regular contact with APSEA employees at all levels across the organization.

We are looking for someone who has:
 
  • Completed a business diploma in accounting or a related field. A recognized equivalency may be accepted.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in an accounting environment including the operation of an accounting system, using functions such as purchase orders, invoices and receipts.
  • Knowledge of accounting best practices and knowledge of processing accounts receivables and payables is required.
  • Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Word, ability to learn software and database programs, including Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft 365 platforms is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
 
Would be a plus if you have:
 
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Proficiency in French.

Compensation

$43,784.00 - $48,988.00 per year
